I wanted so bad to see myself as a good person. But that desire didn't push me to be better; it did the exact opposite so that I can protect the image I created of myself. I'm not a good person, and that's more than fine; it's real.

Our parents can do a number on us, and leave us with a burden that we can carry for a lifetime. But I believe you can find freedom. It's just not easy. It never is.
