This is such a special episode to me.
And remember to listen all the way to the end to hear the wise advice on how to check in with yourself. Follow Malene here @malene_grotrian @itbeginswithaquestion https://www.facebook.com/malene.grotrian
Sometimes you talk to a stranger and it just feels so easy and insanely interesting. That is what it was like chatting to Paulette Erato from www.petitefont.com
Paulette is an awesome creative sewist – among so many other things, and she has so many wise and deep things to say about overcoming the fear, how to silence the inner critic, and basically free yourself creatively. I was so happy to have this talk and I hope you enjoy it too – I am sure you will.

I am a big, longtime fan of Stine. She began with a daily webcomic that I loved to read every day. Now she has published several books, comics, journaled diaries and even a crochet book. She also has a daily comic strip in a big Danish newspaper. We talk about imposter syndrome, climbing the mountain of hard work, and riding the rush wave from doing all the things you just told yourself you could not do.
In this episode I am lucky enough to interview Gemma Roberts from the instagram account @gemma_and_isla about her creative journey from childhood to now. Gemma loves sewing, knitting and crocheting, and we talk about mobile crafts, the crazy yarn from her very first scarf, the blanket full of memories, and what growing up in a creative household means.
Instagram is a hard nut to chew, and this year I am trying to be all about doing the things that feel fun and joyful on Instagram - and not what I think I should do. Let´s see if it works, but hopefully at least it won´t give Instagram burnout.
I am sure my boss from my full-time job sometimes think I never do any real work, because how can I still run my creative business on the side? But I can, and I do because I do my best to prioritise, be effecient and not procrastinate too much. Sounds hard? Listen to this episode and see what you think.
For this episode I talked to my husband Alan about how he deals with the challenges of living with a serial crafter and a house full of fabric scraps. I changed the microphones for this – and it sounds waaaaayyy better.
Now the author of 3 sewing books Karoline talks about the whole process - from idea to finished book. There will be information about the publishing world and what to include in a book proposal. And remember, even if you are not published, you can still be a writer.
We all have creative journeys in life. In this episode Karoline talks about hers. From a doodling and artsy kid, to a sewing teenager, into a confused adult, and now a 40-year-old with popcorn brain and a thousand projects.
This is the very first episode of the Popcorn Brain Podcast. Here Karoline Dahrling Hughes shares on having a creative popcorn brain and how to make it work for you.
