This story tells of a rich but sleepless king who offers half his kingdom for a cure. A deceitful stranger accepts, uses magical poppies to put the king into an enchanted sleep, hides him within the overgrown plants, and takes over the entire kingdom. Later, a young man arrives – the one originally meant to help the king before being robbed of his own sleep-inducing flower by the same stranger. With help from a witch who knows the poppies' secret, the young man awakens the old king, exposes the imposter, and is eventually made heir to the throne as a reward for his honesty and bravery.
