The Post Game

We start off recapping last weekend’s slate including Daily Fantasy standings, Fraud Watch and #FadeMolloy picks. We have our usual ACC cloutfest right into B1G slander, but somehow manage to hop on the Rutgers bandwagon. We distribute some “get out of jail free” cards in Clout Police, and then finish with some ACC Rookie of the Year thoughts.

Joe Nardella sits down with us to talk about his time at Rutgers, both on the field and off, including the tailgate scene, the best locker room guys, and some of the best food around campus. Getting into some PLL discussion, Joe sheds light on his chirp game, the Whipsnake team dynamic and (respectfully) predicts a Whips 3-peat.

(44:51) Duke legend Deemer Class jumps on the show for a great interview. We talk about the Maryland flag, high school football (so much humble bragging), and a lot about ACC lacrosse. Nick and Deemer also break down a legendary Vail bar fight that turned into a very brutal scrap (metaphorically). Deemer then talks quitting his job, starting a business, playing professionally, coaching the women’s team at USC and a lot more.

We also talk MLL, including the Outlaws (wow, shocker) and Max Adler’s willingness to (somewhat literally) die for an MLL Championship. Finally, we cover the PLL transition, where Dan immediately tanks his draft stock by revealing he is not a big social media guy.

(30:58) Wes Berg comes on for an interview to let us know that winning a Minto Cup and an NCAA Championship is, uhh yeah, kind of a big deal (some dude named Gary has also done it). Wes discusses his recruiting process, which included using an A in AP Floor Hockey to help get him into Princeton. We spend a solid 30 minutes letting him bask in the clout of his heroic college days which were capped off by Joe Sakic recognizing him at the bar (cool, I guess). We wrap up with some Outlaws talk (shocking) and finally Wes’ suitcase of a PLL career thus far.

Wardo gets into his time at the Hill Academy (he says “Grade 11” like five times, don’t miss it), being a Bellarmine legend, and his experiences in both the indoor and outdoor professional leagues. We discuss a few memorable post games and wrap up with some Canada vs USA discussion.

(19:16) Onondaga CC legend, former Syracuse stud, MLL Champion, NLL Champion, and very soon to be PLL standout Randy Staats sits down with us. Randy gives us some info on the amazing work he is doing with Turtle Island (http://turtleislandlax.com/), growing up and playing lacrosse on the reserve, his time at Hill Academy and scoring 1 million points at OCC while only playing one half per game. Randy and Evan recap their time at Syracuse and compare OCC nightlife to Cuse and Notre Dame nightlife. Nick and Randy look back on their NLL encounters (scouting report: "take Ossello to the rack") and discuss Randy joining the PLL. We wrap up with a bit of a history lesson and some important insight from Randy on the Iroquois Nationals initial exclusion from the 2022 World Games.
