Some have even turned the gospel of Jesus into a message about how individuals can get into heaven...
But Jesus didn't die to rescue individuals.
Jesus died to create a community of people that treasures him above all else. Through his death and resurrection on our behalf he has abolished every self-righteous reason for exclusion and separation, uniting his followers under one Lord, one hope, one calling, and one common unity in the gospel.
