Challenge this, sprint that — everyone tells you to lock in for 7 days, 12 weeks, or 1 year, but very rarely do they include instructions on how to prepare.
I’m obsessed with structured, time-bound challenges; I’ve been doing them since I was a kid (that’s how I accidentally became a vegetarian 17 years ago — after a 2-week no-meat challenge, I just couldn’t go back).
Now many people can love challenges but not many can finish them as often as I do. One of my tricks of the trade is a test run. This is a period of time before the “official” challenge begins. I do my best to complete everything as planned and make adjustments while observing my shortcomings so I can design a challenge that’ll be realistic for me. Test runs are how I set myself up for success instead of setting myself up to be disappointed.
In this episode, I break down how to set up a test run and an easy tracking system. Listen now so you’ll be ready to go when it’s time for your next challenge/sprint/75-hard.
