  • 25-092 Walking Through God’s Open Doors

Today, we’re talking about something every believer faces: doors—some wide open, some firmly shut. Ever wonder why a door you were hoping for remains closed while another swings open unexpectedly? That’s where God’s guidance comes in.

Our springboard for today’s discussion is: Revelation 3:8—"I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut."

God is always leading us, but the challenge is learning to recognize when He’s opening a door and when He’s closing one for our good. Sometimes, we’re so focused on a locked door that we miss the one He’s already swung wide open. The key is discernment. Not every opportunity is from Him, and not every rejection is the enemy trying to stop us—it might just be divine protection.

So, how do we know the difference? First, alignment with God’s Word—God will never open a door that contradicts Scripture. Second, peace—God’s doors bring peace, not confusion or fear. Third, confirmation—He often affirms His direction through wise counsel and circumstances.

Maybe you’re standing before a door right now, unsure whether to step through. Trust His timing. If He’s placed the opportunity before you, no one can take it away. And if He’s closed a door, it’s because He has something better ahead.

Question of the Day: Have you ever experienced God closing a door only to realize later that it was for your good?

Let’s Pray: Lord, help us to see Your open doors clearly and trust You when You close others. Give us wisdom to walk in Your will and faith to trust Your perfect timing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • A Parable Inspired by the Song: Goodness of God

The Parable of the Farmer and the Fire

Once upon a modern-day morning in a town not too far from yours, there lived an old farmer named Hank. Hank wasn’t the kind of man you’d find on magazine covers or speaking at conferences. He didn’t have a million followers or a fancy app to track his chickens. But what Hank did have was a deep well of wisdom, a heart full of stories, and a memory etched with both scars and miracles.

Now Hank had lived on that farm his whole life. It wasn’t much to look at—just a modest house, a red barn leaning a little too far left, and about twenty acres of soil that had known both flood and drought. But ask Hank about it, and he’d grin through his whiskers and say, “She’s been good to me. The Lord’s been even better.”

Every morning, Hank would stand on his porch with a coffee cup in hand, look out over his fields, and whisper, “All my life You have been faithful…” It was his way of saying thank You—like signing a love letter back to Heaven.

But not everyone saw it that way.

    The Fire Comes

One hot July afternoon, the sky turned an ominous gray. Wind whipped through the tall grass like it was looking for trouble, and before anyone could shout “lightning,” the horizon lit up with flames. A wildfire sparked just a few miles off and spread like bad gossip in a small town.

Folks ran. Sirens screamed. Fields crackled and smoke painted the sky black.

Hank’s neighbors evacuated. But Hank? He just grabbed his old truck, filled it with buckets, hoses, and a Bible that had seen better days, and started soaking everything he could.

“Why aren’t you leaving, Hank?!” a young firefighter shouted through the roar of the wind.

Hank just smiled and said, “Son, I’ve walked this field with God in rain and in drought, in laughter and in loss. I ain’t about to stop now. The goodness of God don’t disappear when the fire shows up.”

    The Ashes and the Answer

The fire scorched everything. When the smoke cleared the next day, Hank’s farmhouse was still standing—barely—but the barn was gone, the crops were dust, and the fields were silent.

His neighbors gathered around, expecting Hank to be heartbroken. And in truth, he was. He stood quietly in the field, ashes clinging to his boots like memories of what once was.

But then Hank knelt down, picked up a handful of scorched earth, and whispered, “Still… all my life You have been so, so good.”

One neighbor, a skeptical businessman named Cole, couldn’t take it anymore.

“Hank,” he said, “how can you call this good? You lost everything! Where’s your God in this?”

Hank stood slowly, looked Cole in the eye, and said, “You’re looking at Him.”

    Cole blinked.

“The goodness of God ain’t about the things I lost,” Hank continued. “It’s about the One who never left. That fire tested my land—but it revealed my foundation. And my friend, I ain’t built on barns or bushels. I’m built on grace.”

    The Seed Beneath the Ashes

Months passed. The news forgot about the fire. But Hank? He didn’t just rebuild—he replanted. And something strange happened. That burned field? It bloomed. Wildflowers and wheat grew stronger than before.

You see, fire has a way of refining things. Burning away the shallow to reveal the deep. And in the ashes, God planted something beautiful. A new harvest, deeper faith, and a testimony that shook even Cole to his core.

One day, as they stood watching the golden fields sway in the breeze, Cole said quietly, “You were right, Hank. He really is good.”

And Hank, coffee in hand, eyes twinkling, replied, “Son, His goodness is not measured by what He gives—it’s revealed by who He is. And He’s always good.”

    The Moral of the Story

God’s goodness isn’t defined by how smooth our road is, how green our fields are, or how high our barns stand. His goodness is that He walks with us through the fire, sings over us in the storm, and carries us when we can’t go another step.

Even when everything burns, His goodness still blooms.

    Bible Verse

Psalm 23:6 (ESV) — “Surely your goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”

And now you know… the rest of the parable.Amen.

  • TOV 25-091 Faith Over Feelings: Holding Firm When Life Gets Hard

Life throws punches. One day, you feel strong, ready to take on the world. The next, doubt creeps in, and you wonder if you’re even on the right path. Feelings change. They’re unreliable. But faith? Faith is a choice. It’s a decision to trust God’s promises even when your emotions scream otherwise.

Our springboard for today’s discussion is:"For we live by faith, not by sight." — 2 Corinthians 5:7 (ESV)

Men often battle the tension between what they feel and what they know to be true. Fear, frustration, and disappointment can cloud our judgment. But real strength is found in standing firm on God’s promises, even when nothing around us seems to confirm them.

Look at Peter. The moment he stepped out of the boat onto the water, he was walking in faith. But when the wind picked up and doubt took hold, he began to sink. His mistake? He shifted from faith to feeling. He took his eyes off Jesus.

The same happens to us. When we let emotions dictate our decisions, we drift. But faith says, “I trust God, no matter what.” Faith isn’t about denying feelings—it’s about not letting them control you. It’s about standing on the unshakable foundation of God’s Word, knowing He is faithful even when life feels uncertain.

Question of the Day:What’s one promise of God you need to stand on right now, despite how you feel?

Let’s Pray:Father, teach me to trust You beyond my emotions. When life shakes me, let my faith stand firm in Your promises. Strengthen my resolve to walk by faith, not by sight. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • 25-091 God’s Will in Your Desires

Today, we’re diving into a powerful truth—God speaks to us by shaping our desires. Have you ever had a longing in your heart that just wouldn’t go away, one that seemed to pull you toward something greater? What if that desire wasn’t just yours, but God leading you?

Our springboard for today’s discussion is:"Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart." — Psalm 37:4

When we truly delight in God—when we seek Him above all else—our hearts begin to change. The desires we once had for status, wealth, or personal gain start shifting. Instead of chasing our own dreams, we begin longing for what He longs for. And when our desires are aligned with His will, He fulfills them in ways we never imagined.

But let’s be honest—sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference between our own wants and God’s will. That’s why surrender is key. When we lay our desires at His feet, we allow the Holy Spirit to refine them. We stop pushing for what we think is best and start trusting in His perfect plan. It’s not about getting everything we want—it’s about wanting everything He has for us.

What if we dared to trust that God places desires in our hearts for a reason? What if, instead of resisting, we leaned in and asked, Lord, is this from You? When we do, we find that His desires become our greatest joy.

Question of the Day: Are your desires pulling you closer to God or leading you away?

Let’s Pray: Lord, align my heart with Yours. Shape my desires to reflect Your will. Help me trust that what You have for me is greater than anything I could chase on my own. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • TOV 25-090 The Test of a True Man: How Pressure Reveals Character

Life has a way of applying pressure, and when it does, what’s inside of us is revealed. Some men fold under the weight of adversity, while others rise, shaped by the fire of experience. True strength isn’t found in avoiding hardship but in standing firm through it. Today, we’re going to unpack how trials don’t weaken us—they expose and refine the man God is calling us to be.

Our springboard for today’s discussion is: "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." — James 1:2-3 (ESV)

Pressure doesn’t create weakness—it reveals it. The trials you face today aren’t here to destroy you; they’re here to refine you. Just like fire purifies gold, adversity exposes where your foundation is strong and where it needs reinforcement. A man of God doesn’t run from the fire—he stands firm in it, knowing that God is shaping him into something greater.

Look at Joseph, betrayed by his brothers, falsely accused, and imprisoned. The pressure didn’t break him—it prepared him for leadership. David faced lions, bears, and a giant before he ever sat on the throne. These weren’t accidents; they were God’s training grounds. Your challenges today are your proving grounds.

When you encounter resistance, when the weight of responsibility feels too heavy, that’s when your true character is revealed. Will you crumble under the pressure, or will you lean into God’s strength and press forward? Perseverance is what separates boys from men. It’s easy to be faithful when life is smooth, but real faith is forged in difficulty.

Question of the Day:How have your past trials shaped you into the man you are today?

Let’s Pray:Father, when the pressure comes, help me to see it not as a burden but as a refining fire. Strengthen my faith, build my perseverance, and mold me into the man You’ve called me to be. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • 25-090 Hearing God Through His Word

Today, we’re diving into a foundational truth: God speaks through His written Word. Many believers long to hear God’s voice, yet they often overlook the most direct and reliable source—Scripture itself. The Bible isn’t just an ancient text; it’s God’s living, breathing communication to us.

Our springboard for today’s discussion is:2 Timothy 3:16-17 – "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work."

When we seek God’s voice, we must recognize that He has already spoken. Every verse in the Bible carries His divine breath, guiding us toward wisdom, correction, and growth. Scripture is more than information—it’s transformation. When we immerse ourselves in God’s Word, we gain direction for our lives, clarity in decision-making, and a deeper understanding of His heart.

Think about it: How often do we ask God for answers when He has already given them in His Word? Whether it’s finding peace in chaos, wisdom in uncertainty, or conviction in complacency, the Bible provides everything we need. Reading Scripture isn’t just about knowledge; it’s about knowing Him.

Question of the Day: How often do you turn to Scripture first when seeking to hear from God?

Let’s Pray:Lord, thank You for speaking through Your Word. Help us to cherish Scripture as Your divine voice, guiding us in truth, correction, and righteousness. Give us a hunger for Your Word and the discipline to study it daily. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

  • TOV 25-089 A Love Letter from God: My Power is in You

Zechariah 4:6 – “‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.”

    My Mighty Warrior,

You do not have to rely on your own strength. The battles you fight—the ones in your heart, your mind, and your circumstances—are not yours to carry alone. I am the source of your power. I am the One who fights for you, who strengthens you, who upholds you when you feel weak.

You may feel exhausted, like you have nothing left to give. But My Spirit within you is stronger than anything you will ever face. You were never meant to overcome in your own power. My power is made perfect in your weakness. When you surrender to Me, when you stop trying to do it all on your own, that is when you will see My strength in full force.

The world teaches that strength is about control, about proving yourself. But I tell you this: True power is found in dependence on Me. When you rely on My Spirit, you will accomplish things you never thought possible. Walls will fall, mountains will move, and victories will come—not by your own might, but by My Spirit working through you.

Do not be afraid of what lies ahead. Do not fear failure or opposition. Stand firm and know that I am with you. My strength is enough. My power is limitless. And My Spirit in you will carry you forward, always.

    With Unshakable Love,Your Heavenly Father
