The Things She Carries

The Power of Prayer

Listen Later

This week, we’re diving into prayer — not as a “checklist” item, but as the lifeline that keeps us rooted in Jesus and growing in the fruit of the Spirit. Whether you’re in a season of joy, chaos, or waiting, prayer shapes our hearts, strengthens our faith, and overflows into love, peace, and patience for those around us.

We’ll talk about Jesus’ example of prayer, why it’s vital for mothers and women, and practical ways to make prayer a natural part of your everyday rhythm — even in the busiest seasons.

Grab your coffee, take a deep breath, and let’s grow together in Him.

Questions:

  1. What does your current prayer life look like — and what fruit do you see from it?
  2. When life gets busy, what’s the first thing you tend to cut — prayer, rest, or something else? Why?
  3. How have you seen God change you through prayer, even if your circumstances stayed the same?
  4. Which fruit of the Spirit do you feel God is growing in you most right now?
  5. How can you invite your children, spouse, or friends into prayer with you this week?

This week, choose one intentional prayer rhythm:

  • Start each day with a 2-minute gratitude prayer before you pick up your phone.
  • Keep a running “Breath Prayer” for stressful moments (Example: “Lord, You are my peace.”)
  • End each night by praying out loud with your kids or spouse.

Then, share your story: Post on Instagram or write it in your journal about how prayer impacted your day. Tag the podcast to encourage other women.
