Welcome to the second part of our series on preparation for Teach Me Something Tuesday with me, Dr. F. Scott Feil. Today, we'll be discussing the importance of preparation before each class session or office hour. As a seasoned educator, I know that the best cure for anxiety or uncertainty is being prepared, which includes having a good grasp on the content and all necessary materials. You don't want to go over the same content the students are already learning. Instead, take a broader view and consider the ideas behind the content, anticipate any questions that may arise, and have a Plan B ready if Plan A doesn't work.

During class, it's important to summarize key ideas, use a variety of teaching methods, and present a problem or mystery that students can solve by the end of the class. Being organized and preparing well helps with student learning and appreciation. Each class period should have a clear beginning, middle, and end, and you don't want to cover too much material in a single class period.

Before teaching, set aside time to focus your mind on your goals for that day. Look forward to interacting with students, helping them learn, and responding to their questions and ideas. As an active listener, you should also use positive affirmations and visualization to picture a well-developed lecture for the day. With these tips and strategies, you'll be well-prepared and ready to deliver a successful and engaging class. So stay tuned and let's explore this topic further!

If you're a PT and you have student loan debt, you gotta talk to these guys. What makes them unique is that they view financial planning as like running hurdles on a track. And for PTs, the first hurdle many of us run into is student loan debt. Varela Financial will help you get over that hurdle. They not only take the time to explain to you which plans you individually qualify for and how those plans work, but they ALSO take the time to show you what YOUR individual case looks like mapped out within each option. So if you're looking for help on your student loan debt, or any area of your personal finances, we highly recommend working with them. You can check out Varela Financial out at varelafinancial.com.
