From the Holler

The Power of Stillness

Listen Later

Hosts: Vikki Fraker & Amanda Augustine

Show Length: 20:27

Meditation…what is it? How do you do it? Are there hard and fast rules around meditation and stillness? We hear so much swirling around these days about mediation…what’s the “right” duration, posture, to mudra or not to mudra?…it’s the age old debate. On this episode Vikki Fraker and Amanda Augustine discuss the power of stillness and the diversity of forms that stillness can take. Vikki shares her journey with meditation and discusses the power of having mindful self compassion throughout the process. We really get to ask ourselves “why even meditate?” What’s the point of meditation? Ultimately we discover that mediation is a gateway to inner peace and heightened awareness where we can connect with the divine and unlock the profound potential of our minds. Vikki and Amanda have a thought provoking discussion about energy…what energy do we bring to our “doing?” Ultimately we learn that everything we do whether it be meditation, feeding animals, cooking a meal… its all just a sacred dance compiled of many steps with no end-goal in mind…a collection of small moments that come together to cultivate a spirit of mindfulness. Vikki challenges us to enjoy the process and remain present…to the process of healing the soul and awakening the soul through stillness and meditation.
