Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We hope you all had an incredible Thanksgiving! We prayed for you all to experience the joy of the Lord with your friends and families.
We are beginning our Advent Series this weekend as we spend the next four weeks preparing for Christmas.
The first week is Advent Hope. Hope is an incredible thing! It can motivate us to persevere through hard times. It can encourage us. And it can lift us up. However, whenever hope gets deferred, it can cause us to become melancholy and sick as the Proverb goes.
The people of Israel had been hoping for a Messiah, someone that would right all the wrongs in the world. They had been waiting for years, going back to the prophecies and promises of Scripture, and they were holding on by a thin thread. But as time passed, hope dwindled.
John the Baptist came onto the scene, preparing the way of the Lord, and Hope began to rise again!
As we begin our Advent Series, we're going to spend some time looking at the promises and provision of Hope in Jesus Christ and how as the people of God, we are called to hold onto hope despite our circumstances and trust that God will do what He said He will do!
