As today is the first day of Advent, a season of preparation, hope, and expectation, we are invited to loosen our grip and make room for God’s unfolding story. Advent reminds us that waiting is not wasted — it is a sacred space where trust is deepened, and faith is renewed.
How often do we place a prayer in God’s Hands, only to clutch it back moments later? We pray with sincerity, yet our hearts wrestle with trust — trust in God’s will, His timing, and His overall approach.
Is it control we crave? Or is it fear — fear that God’s answer may look different than our own, or that His response may lead us where we hadn’t planned to go?
When I struggle to surrender, it’s often because I’m clinging to my version of the outcome, not trusting the divine story God has already written for me. But when I abandon myself to His will, intimacy blooms — and my heart is filled with peace. To rest in the sovereign arms of God is to say, “Father, I release this to You entirely.”
As you reflect on that, remember these words: “Commit thy way unto the Lord, trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” Psalm 37:5 (ESV)
This has been your B Moment. Your moment to be still…to be fed by the Word of God…to be grateful.

So, today, abandon your prayers to Him.
Be Reflective: When you pray, do you truly release the outcome to God– or do you find yourself reaching back for control? How might Advent – a season of preparation, hope, and expectation – invite you to trust God’s timing more fully? What outcome are you clinging to today that you could surrender to God’s greater story?
Be Prayerful: Heavenly Father, help me surrender the things I keep taking back, and rest in the truth that You are always working for my good and Your glory. Fill my heart with peace as I abandon myself and my heart’s desires to You. Amen
Be Fed: Proverbs 16:3; Philippians 4:6-7; 1 Peter 5:7
