Welcome to the first episode of The Distant Replay, hosted by Abe Beuttler. In this episode, I will be going one on one with NBA expert A. Sherrod Blakely to discuss the evolution of the NBA three point line. A number of topics will be discussed including how the line came to be, and who made it popular. Stephen Curry will be a focus of discussion, as well as what is going on with the current Boston Celtics. There’s a lot behind the history of this line, and we are going to do a deep dive to exemplify the impacts it has had on the NBA today.
On this episode, we all share a common goal. We want to figure out why three-point shooting has become such a staple of the game today. Why are teams taking so many shots from behind the line? Will this continue? These are some of the questions we will answer during this episode of The Distant Replay.
Be sure to stick around for our first “On Deck Hot Seat” segment, where Bobby Manning of CLNS media will join us to answer a few tricky NBA questions. He has some interesting answers to some of the surprise questions we hit him with. Prime Jokic or Prime Curry? We'll get Bobby's answer on this question and a couple others along the way.
