Publisher's Summary:
Once on Nantucket, Teddy is forced to confront feelings he's long repressed. As he struggles with his mother's illness and his daughter's disdain, he learns some stunning truths about the father he once idolized and the shocking extent of his daughter's pain. And when he meets a woman who challenges everything he thought he understood about relationships, he unexpectedly finds the life he never knew he wanted.
Critic Reviews:
"Teddy is forced to choose between becoming the senator from California or the 'Prince of Nantucket'. If you think you know how it ends, you're right. But if you think you won't get at least a little weepy, you're wrong." (Publishers Weekly)

Four Stars
This is a nice book although it is slightly predictable but still enjoyable. The Nantucket setting certainly helps!
Prince of Nantucket
Good book. Although slightly predictable, most fiction is at least a little, this is a compelling story of a young boy, and a father dealing with their issues, which are brought to the forefront because of Alzheimers. Book reads quickly and will draw you in right away.

Good story
It is a very good novel! After reading it i,start to think more about how important is family, and how we should allow more time to spend with our parents.
Page Turner!
I recently read this book over a rainy weekend. I was thoroughly engaged after the first chapter. It is a wonderful story and testament of the human spirit as it reminds each reader of why we are here and what really matters every day. Teddy, the main character is arrogant and ego driven from the onset but his relationship with his teenage daughter gives you a glimpse of his soft spots and his loyalty. Teddy's relationship with his sick mother is complex in all of the raw anger and vulnerability that the author conveys in his struggle to connect with this woman who he has despised for years. There is a love story to boot, which makes a novel complete to me! All and all, a wonderful Summer read. You will laugh, you will cry. You will walk away from this book with a newfound compassion for the debilitating desease of Alzheimer's and how in the end, all we can ever hold on to is this very precious moment! Go out and hug your kids, be kind to your family. Enjoy this wonderful story, I sure did!
