Are we more apt to put weight on the name of Michael Jordan/people in your life or Jesus Christ? Go Make Plays! We are "NOT JUST FANS"!

Today on the show Gibbs talks with Team Lancaster Thunder about teams, experiences, goods, and relationships that are worth the cost. The Florida Panthers put on a hockey clinic last night in South Florida. Producing a lopsided 6-1 victory. They looked like the real thing. In Oakland, Denzel Clarke helped provide definition for baseball fans of what an "Athletic" play looks like with an astounding robbery of a baseball destined for the seats. A "Web Gem" as they used to say. Tip of the hat to Peter Gammons. Gibbs talks with Team Lancaster Thunder about some of the impact of the new NIL settlement. He also talks about how we as humans are constantly searching for the "real thing"! Jesus Christ is the "real thing"! Go make plays! We are "Not Just Fans"!

Today on the show Gibbs talks with team Lancaster Thunder about the Coach K camp held each year and this past week at Duke University. People pay $13,000 (2025 price) to be part of the camp for 4 days and many Duke basketball players come back to be part of the experience. It is a celebration of Duke culture and accomplishments. When you observe the tradition and accolades of the program it can be alluring to yearn for that kind of fraternity. There can be temptation to condemnation and despair if you feel you have not been as successful as you hoped and you feel alone. If you are a follower of Jesus Christ are you aware of the magnificent legacy of faith you have been invited into? Is the influence and greatness of Jesus Christ and the power flowing through you because of His saving grace prominent in your mind? Do you grasp what you have gained in the body of Christ as your ally and the Savior as your advocate, peace with God, and the Holy Spirit as your helper? Gibbs shares some brief thoughts on Jagr's mullet, Lord Stanley's Cup, and the NBA playoffs. Go Make Plays! We are "Not Just Fans"

Today on the show Gibbs talks with Team Lancaster Thunder about abundance and his reflections from Memorial Day. This baseball season Max Scherzer will make $72 million dollars from 4 separate teams. 50+ games into the season he has pitched 3 innings. The temptation is to say if I made money like that....fill in the blank. As Gibbs reflected on Memorial Day and the sacrifices made, he was aware of his own discontentment despite being surrounded by so much surplus. Isn't it amazing how we can be in situations we want to be in, surrounded by people we want to be surrounded by and still feel a gnawing longing for more...God help us to be content and to desire Godliness and generosity. Go Make Plays! We are "NOT JUST FANS!"

Today on the show Gibbs talks with Team Lancaster Thunder about the simple yet highly challenging discipline of running to the line every time. An easy goal but so challenging to execute in life. Often the difference between winning and losing, championship t-shirts and the agony of defeat is who can execute until the whistle blows and who starts to celebrate the victory before it has been earned. The furnace of playoff pressure recently melted the Knicks and Oilers but also provided the heat for the refinement of an all-time playoff moment from Aaron Nesmith, Haliburton, and the Pacers from Indiana. There is a lot of basketball to be hooped and a lot of plays to be made! Go make plays Lancaster Thunder! Jesus can be trusted! Remember, we are "NOT JUST FANS"! Thanks to all the men and women who have made sacrifices to preserve and defend the freedoms we enjoy in the United States.

Shohei Ohtani goes deep twice on Ohtani bobblehead night, the Boston Celtics beat the Knicks without Tatum, Anthony Edwards pays respects to Steph Curry's greatness on the basketball hardwood, and Soto believes he is playing the Yankees alone this weekend. All of these are varying examples of the dangers of overconfidence or the risk of losing sight of the sport's excellence on display in front of our eyes. Gibbs is realizing that He is only understanding a tiny glimpse of the greatness of the man Jesus Christ. Let's be careful to approach each day praying for humility to escape the dangers of overconfidence. Let us not lose the awe of the amazing. GO MAKE PLAYS! We are "NOT JUST FANS"!
