In this week’s episode, we discuss the Irish Budget 2022. Henna explains the budget process, the pre-budget planning, the debates and stages the budget must go through and what exactly  happens on budget day. Annaig then outlines the different areas of the Budget 2022, such as increase in minimum wage, increase to social welfare payments, free contraception and raising the price of cigarettes. We discuss the implications these budget outlines will have and the positives and negatives of such decisions. We then chat about how this Budget will affect the housing crisis and what plans to improve the crisis have been made or failed to be made.
