The Process

Host, Adam Sommer, is joined by Steven Reigns, a poet & author to discuss Steven's latest project "A Quilt For David" - a sincere attempt to tell the full story surrounding David Acer, a dentist in Florida accused of infecting his patients with HIV in the early 1990's, the first allegation coming while David lay dying of his own AIDS related illness. As a gay man at the time, David's illness made him an obvious target for blame. David didn't get a chance to complete his own defense, to tell his own story. Steven's decade of work attempts to do just that.

Nicholas Linke (host) asks music teacher Chelsea Otten (guest) to share her story about the argument she made at a school board meeting about masks to keep students out of quarantine... and the shaming response she received from her own Missouri representative.

1. Nicholas gives his reaction to how scientific arguments in papers that require citations compare to attacks on the disregarded anonymous.

2. Chelsea Otten tells her story about how being "That Music Teacher" to her own representative made her want to speak out.

Nicholas Linke (host) is joined by his father, Tim Linke (guest), to talk about: how pseudo-science solutions to not being vaccinated result in natural selection when the biological forces of survival of the fittest and altruism are expressed within our political system.

First, an opening statement about the heliocentric model of the universe caused a paradigm shift in the image we have of ourselves.

Second, Nicholas discusses with his father how conversations about science and politics lead to interesting overlap when you allow for the grey area and not let labels polarize the conversation.
