Before Erin Saxton became a sought-after public relations strategist, keynote speaker, and entrepreneur, she was helping shape some of television's most iconic programming alongside iconic journalist Barbara Walters and Executive Producer Bill Geddie. In this episode, I sit down with my longtime mentor, Erin Saxton, who worked on The Barbara Walters Specials and The View before I eventually joined those same legendary teams, giving us a unique shared perspective on one of the most influential eras in television.Together, we pull back the curtain on what it was really like working behind the scenes with Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie, pitching segment ideas at The View, producing compelling stories under pressure, and learning from some of the best storytellers in the business. We also explore how the skills we developed in television production continue to influence our work today. While Erin now helps organizations and leaders elevate their visibility through strategic public relations, and I help entrepreneurs tell their stories through content, video, podcasts, and media strategy, our mission remains the same: helping people discover, shape, and share their "why."Whether you're a content creator, entrepreneur, communications professional, or simply fascinated by the world behind television, this conversation is packed with stories, insights, and lessons from two producers who built their careers around the power of storytelling. In this episode:• Behind-the-scenes stories from Barbara Walters Specials• What it was like pitching segments at The View• Lessons learned from Barbara Walters and Bill Geddie• The evolution from television producer to entrepreneur• How storytelling drives successful PR and content strategy• Why everyone has their own unique recipe for successTo learn more about Erin Saxton, book her for speaking engagements, or explore her PR services, visit:https://www.theerinnetwork.com/https://www.linkedin.com/in/erin-saxton/https://www.tiktok.com/@erinsaxton3https://www.instagram.com/saxtonerin/---Brands hire me to create content that converts.Contact me here for more info on what I can offer you or your brand:[email protected] ME HERE:Instagram:https://www.instagram.com/producerrachelgiordano/Facebook:https://www.facebook.com/producerrachel/TikTok:https://www.tiktok.com/@producerrachelgiordanoLinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/in/rachel-marie-giordano/Wondering what gear to buy if you are just starting a podcast?Check out my Amazon Storefront!https://www.amazon.com/shop/execprodrachelLOVE MY GLASSES - BUY THEM HERE!https://www.zeelool.com/goods-detail/VFT0269-03WANT ONE OF MY OUTFITS?https://www.shopltk.com/explore/Producer_RachelWant your own emotional support pillow? In this episode, Producer Rachel sits down with Terry Grahl, founder and CEO of Enchanted Makeovers, a nonprofit that transforms shelters for women and children escaping trauma through shelter transformations, handmade dolls, superhero capes, sacred sewing rooms, and so much more.
Terry shares how a single volunteer moment at a shelter turned into a lifelong mission. From interior decorator to national advocate for female homeless veterans, survivors of trafficking, and families in crisis, her story is one of faith over fear, action over overwhelm, and believing in the quiet power of beauty, creativity, and imagination to heal.
At every pivotal moment, Terry chose to move forward, without a full plan, without certainty, just a willing heart and a firm belief that the next step would reveal itself. This episode is a powerful reminder that while fear is always an option, so is faith. How we respond in those defining moments shapes the path ahead.
This is more than a story about giving back—it’s about reclaiming purpose, creating belonging, and using what you already have to create real change. It’s about shifting mindsets, tapping into imagination, and giving people permission to dream and heal. Terry doesn’t just transform physical spaces—she helps people see what’s possible for their lives.Learn how one woman:
Turned sewing into sacred healing
Inspired children to see themselves as superheroes
Mobilized volunteers across the country
Partnered with brands like Hilton, Hobby Lobby, and The Kelly Clarkson Show

What does it take to have your name added to a legacy morning show after 20 years in radio?
In this episode, I sit down with Eric Rowe—Executive Producer and cast member of Houston's top-rated Roula & Ryan Show with Eric. We go behind the curtain of what really keeps a radio show alive, relevant, and top of mind in the age of TikTok, YouTube, and AI.
Eric opens up about his unlikely journey from growing up on a farm in Illinois to becoming one of the few executive producers in history to have his name added to a major market morning show. We talk about producing chaos, team dynamics, the power of vulnerability in broadcasting, and why great radio is anything but easy.
This episode is a masterclass in longevity, branding, and staying human in a tech-driven media world.
Topics we cover:
-Why Eric's name was added to the show after 20+ years
-How producers are often the unseen engine of radio
-Behind-the-scenes planning of show bits and segments
-The truth about radio layoffs and why you need a backup plan
-Why community, live calls, and listener connection still matter-
If you’re a creator, radio fan, podcaster, or media nerd—this one's for you.

⚠️ Trigger Warning: This episode includes discussion of childhood abuse and trauma. Please listen with care.
In this powerful and deeply personal conversation, I sit down with JoJo Dries, founder of On The Wings of Angels, a nonprofit supporting survivors of abuse.
Her story is one of unimaginable pain—but also one of resilience, truth, and transformation. We talk openly about her experience with years of physical and mental abuse from her father, the complex emotional aftermath, and how she now helps others reclaim their voice and their worth.
I first met JoJo after her TEDx Detroit talk and was immediately struck by her raw courage and unwavering mission to help others. In this interview, she trusted me enough to go even deeper. This is not an easy listen—but it is an important one. Her honesty and advocacy are saving lives.
To anyone listening who has felt "crazy" or questioned their reality after trauma—JoJo’s message is clear: You’re not crazy. Yes, it did happen. And you deserve healing.

In this episode, I sit down with Jessica Woodbeck, the powerhouse CEO of Thrive Realty, who’s not just building a business — she’s building leaders. We talk about what it really means to lead without burning out — the mindset shifts required when you're scaling, hiring, and still trying to show up authentically. One of the biggest takeaways? Accepting that no one will be 100% you — and that’s okay.Because leadership isn't about cloning yourself. It's about freeing yourself to lead.Jessica shares how she built a culture of safety and support at Thrive Realty, why content creation is non-negotiable if you want to stand out, and how she personally battled the fear of judgment to show up online through thousands of videos, blogs, and posts — heart fully in it.She reminds us: your story matters. And the more you resist sharing it, the more you risk getting left behind. If you're a visionary leader, a burnt-out entrepreneur, or just tired of trying to be everything to everyone — this conversation is for you.Work with Jessica:[email protected]https://www.instagram.com/jesswoodbeck/Learn more about Jessica Woodbeck and Thrive Realty: https://thriverealtyco.com/ABOUT PRODUCER RACHEL:Brands hire me to create content that converts.Contact me here for more info on what I can offer you or your brand:https://www.sandgmediagroup.com/Ready to level up your content game?
