  • Episode 35- Let’s Talk Race with Karen Fleshman

    Send us a text

Join my very important discussion with the wonderful and pioneering Karen Fleshman

In 2014, Karen Fleshman, Esq. (she her hers) founded Racy Conversations, a workplace workshop facilitation company, to inspire the antiracist generation. Her experiences in the immigrants’ rights movement and preparing young adults of color for tech careers revealed that racism is the underlying problem in our society, she was part of the problem, and she needed to change. Inspired by Mike Brown, in 2014 she vowed to stop preparing young adults of color for the workplace and start preparing the workplace for young adults of color. Karen is a mentor, activist, entrepreneur, attorney, author, educator, proud San Franciscan, and a single soccer mom. Known as “Commonsense Karen,” she is the author of the forthcoming book “My Name is Karen and I am an Antiracist.” Karen is a graduate of Mount Holyoke College, the University of Texas at Austin, and New York Law School, and is admitted to practice in New York. Hundreds of workplaces nationwide have benefitted from Racy Conversations workshops.

  • Episode 31- The Mini Golf Guys

    Send us a text

Join my wonderful conversation with The Mini Gulf Guys!!!

What started out as a hobby to keep three friends connected has now become a great movement that contributes to charities from city to city!

    Their bio:

We decided after college that each year we'd make time for a camping trip. However, the camping trip quickly evolved in the backwoods of northern Wisconsin when a friendly competition was discovered. Over the first three years we discover the random, lucky and skillful joys of one of America's great pastimes. The collision of a colored golf ball hitting brick as it bounces out of bounds, the ball rolling around the rim of the cup, or the loud knock as a ball bounces off a tin barrier are all familiar sounds on these annual trips - but more than that are the chirping birds, echoes of belly aching laughter, and fleeting moments of absolute freedom that help set the narrative of what it's like to live in the United State of America.

The group has looped around beautiful Lake Tahoe, seen the beauty of middle America in Kansas City, explored the historic port city of San Francisco and has mini golfed alongside both coasts of the U.S. in San Diego and Maine. All through one of America's unique pastimes - putt putt golf. We invite you to follow our journey here on our website and on our instagram @theminigolfguys. More importantly, we urge you to go talk to those you are closest with and start your own tradition of getting together for planned gatherings.

    Send us a text

Join my conversation with film maker Ukairo Ukairo!

    His bio:

My name is Ukairo Ukairo, and I'm a Master's student at USC, Film & TV Division, about to go into my second year. I'm an international student from Nigeria, with a passion for kid's stories, the fantasy genre (think Alice In Wonderland & Jumanji but Nigerian/African), and SciFi stories too (think Tomorrowland) - all with a grounded indie touch. I enjoy writing poetry, and writing and producing music. I’m also looking to have a career in both art forms. I’m just an all round creative who’s life goal is to get as much creative freedom as possible to just experiment and play with stories.

If you would like to follow my journey, I am quite active on instagram as @ukairoukairo
