Are sports still an escape in the days of social justice?

Good leadership must be selfless and sincere, not self-centered or self-promoting.  

We all must look in the mirror, remember our upbringing and get back to civility.

The educational everest we must ascend will require increased efforts for social interaction and development so positive discourse can always be the end result.

Gayle Sayers played professional football for the Chicago Bears from 1965-1971.  He died yesterday at the age of 77 and his passing has brought the movie Brian's Song to the forefront of my mind.  The incredible courage, respect, sincerity and deep love that Gayle Sayers and Brian Piccolo had for each other as the first interracial roommates in the NFL was portrayed extraordinarily by Billy Dee Williams and James Caan, respectively.   I first watched this at the age of 9 with my father and I cried my eyes out.  Cancer does that, as I would learn two decades later, to my father. During these difficult times I encourage everyone to take 1 hr and 15 min to watch Brian's Song, you'll be glad you did it.
