Eric Denning is a dedicated educator and community leader with over 27 years of service in the Mount Vernon School District. His journey in education has seen him wear multiple hats, from being an English teacher to serving as the dean of students. In addition to his professional roles, Eric is a loving husband and father, although his children have now reached adulthood.

Currently holding various prominent positions, Eric Denning serves as the athletic director, boys basketball coach, and principal for grades 6-12 within the school district. However, his dedication to education and sports administration recently reached a new milestone when he secured a runoff election victory and was officially appointed to the South Dakota High School Activities Association's Board of Directors on July 26. In this prestigious role, he will serve a term extending until June 30, 2026, as a representative for the state's athletic directors for Division IV high schools. These schools are characterized by their smaller student populations, with an average daily membership of less than 122 students in grades 9-11.

Eric Denning's extensive experience in working with the activity's association, local schools, administrators, athletic directors, and coaches spans over two and a half decades, making his commitment to the educational and athletic development of the community a consistent and integral part of his life.
