God promised to give Abraham a legacy so enduring that it would become a blessing to everyone on the face of the earth. This hinged on the promise God made regarding his heir (Isaac). Shockingly, Adonai then called Abraham to lay his son down as a sacrifice and trust that God could even raise Isaac from the dead.
