Listen Later

This Narration is of John chapter 14, 15 and 16. some of my favorite chapters in the Bible. I have recorded them for you to mediate on. here is a summary:

In John 14, Jesus explains that receiving anything asked in His name is contingent upon a deep relationship with Him and alignment with God's will. The key points include:

  1. Faith in Jesus: Believing in Him and His divine authority (John 14:12).
  2. Asking in His Name: Praying in Jesus' name signifies praying according to His character, purposes, will, and for the glory of the Father (John 14:13-14).
  3. Obedience to His Commands: Loving Jesus through obedience to His teachings creates harmony with His will (John 14:15).
  4. Empowerment by the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit, given to believers, guides them to ask in alignment with God's desires (John 14:16-17).
  5. In essence, it’s not about using Jesus' name as a formula but aligning your prayers with His mission, and the Father’s purposes.

John 15 emphasizes the vital relationship between Jesus, His followers, and the Father. The chapter can be summarized as follows:

Love and obedience : Abide in his love by Keeping his commands

Hatred from the world : expect opposition form the work because the world hates Christ too.

The role of the Holy Spirit: He is our helper, our advocate and our teacher, guide.

The chapter highlights the importance of abiding in Christ, loving one another, and relying on the Spirit amidst challenges.

John 16 prepares the disciples for Jesus’ departure and the coming of the Holy Spirit. Key themes include:

    1. Facing Persecution (Verses 1-4): Jesus warns His followers of coming opposition and persecution for their faith.
    2. The Work of the Holy Spirit (Verses 5-15): The Spirit will guide, convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and reveal truth to the disciples.
    3. Jesus’ Departure and Return (Verses 16-22): Though His death will bring sorrow, it will turn to joy with His resurrection.
    4. Praying in Jesus’ Name (Verses 23-28): Believers are encouraged to ask the Father directly in Jesus’ name, promising their joy will be complete.
    5. Victory Over the World (Verses 29-33): Jesus assures peace and victory through Him despite tribulation in the world.

    6. The chapter emphasizes comfort, guidance, and ultimate victory for believers through the Holy Spirit and faith in Jesus.
