Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Psalm 23:4
Why do you want to promote?
Knowing your answer to this question can be one of the most important things you do in preparation for your test.
π₯ If you have a Β strong WHY, it will fuel you on your path to promotion and allow you to shine on test day.
Finding a strong WHY requires you to dig deep. You must learn to harness the power of both pain and pleasure, dark and light.
To find this fire π₯ look into the 4 areas of life that matter most.

If you are going to test for a promotion at work I recommend you begin your training plan at least 90 days out. πΒ
This plan is based on 90 and the elements of this plan are as follows. β°Β
90 Days > 30 Day Benchmarks > Weekly Check-Ins > Daily Work πͺπͺπͺ
The foundation of this entire plan is doing the daily work. Small simple steps done consistently over time will get you much farther than cramping the weekend before the test.Β
Consistency is King! π

Proximity: The PEOPLE and PLACES you surround yourself with.
Proximity: The PEOPLE and PLACES you surround yourself with.
Under people, there are 3 areas..
Proactively choose the best people and places to support your success. Also choose what people and places you will avoid/ minimize during your test preparation.
19Β I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

Choose what path you will take and choose to invest your time, money, and effort to make this path the right path.Β
Once a decision is made, you should stop worrying and start working. Itβs not always what we know that makes it a good decision. It is what we do to implement and execute it that makes it a good decision.

The one target is the metaphor used to represent your promotional test. It represents the one big outcome you have. To reach your target, you must have a simple, single, obsessive focus.
It is crucial to start with the main target, then break it into smaller parts. As the saying goes, if you are going to eat an elephant, you would do it one bite at a time. The 4 Skills represent the foundational skills you must develop to ensure your success.
The 4 Skills used for a promotional test are study skills, speaking skills, writing skills, and application skills. Every area of the assessment center can fit into one of these four categories. These categories are not an exact science. You may need to be flexible when developing your training plan depending on the position you are testing for. Donβt worry too much about getting it right.
Regardless of the position, you are testing for, there will be an element of these 4 Skills you must address in your preparation.
The Toolbox is organized into four categories to represent the 4 Skills.
