If you were writing to a group of Christians and giving them instructions on how to live in a fallen world what would you tell them? 

                                                 Or 

The truth is, The NT writers give many imperatives like the ones stated above.  In other words, they gave us commands of things we should do. 

That said,  what we have to keep in mind is that the writers of the NT gave imperatives in light of the indicatives.

 In short, making the right decisions in life doesn't mean that you are exempt from the effects of the fall.

Embracing that reality gives us the ability to keep our eyes on Christ and off of ourselves.
