In this podcast I yarn to one of New Zealand's most respected kayak fisherman Rob Fort. Well, like the other guys I am talking to, I always have good yarns with Rob when I catch up. We talk kayak fishing, spearfishing, freediving, seafood ,the Coromandel, and art. It's fair to say Rob is a Coromandel boy through and through. He is an artist who draws his inspiration from what he sees in the water and on land. Rob is a prolific writer, videographer and content producer on kayak fishing. We talk about Rob's connection to the Coromandel and to Tangaroa, and we go deep about what fishing and diving really mean to both of us.

Few people know the Hauraki Gulf as well as Bruce Duncan aka Captain Swish. He is the author of several books, which share his in-depth knowledge and love of fishing and the Gulf. I've always admired Bruce's immense passion for fishing and the ocean and his positive outlook on life. In this podcast, Bruce talks about his recent battle with cancer, and the importance of staying positive and grateful for what we have in life. He also discusses the importance of passing on knowledge down to the next generation of kiwi Men.

In this first podcast, I yarn with one of the people who inspired me into the charter fishing game. Rick Pollock pioneered the New Zealand liveaboard sportfishing charter scene back in the 1970's, and his lengthy career spanned right through until 2019. I was lucky enough to travel three times to the Three Kings Islands with Rick at the helm, and found him not only to be an amazing captain and guide, a very intelligent gentleman at heart. Rick has spent most of his life at sea, and we talk to him about what the ocean means to him, how he stayed so fit physically and mentally over that time, how his outlook on fishing has evolved, and what retirement might hold for him.
