In 1980 I was a kindergartner… I walked out onto a playground for recess and there was a kid chuckin a basketball at the hoop… I remember he had a cool hat on. He was a first grader I was a kindergartners and it was my first recess… I went over there and stood by him. He let me try- we took turns trying to heave that ball up towards the basket at recess… Jimmy was my first friend. He may not know this but it’s true. On my first day of school in kindergarten… I went out to what became my favorite subject… Recess. basketball up towards a rim. He was very nice to me and made me not so nervous about being a little shithead five-year-old that didn’t know anybody… I always remembered that Jimmy. 40 years later -we discuss two podcasts, Steven Rinella‘s Meateater Podcast and Cals Week in Review. These are both outdoorsman themed -hunting, fishing, camping etc.

The PRP Walk had yet to be created when this was recorded. This is a recording that I took from a gentleman I met on Christmas Eve of 2018. Right outside the liquor store -We were both stumblin, lonely and just started chatting on the mean streets of Harlem. It turns out they ain’t so mean. This gentleman has the best stories from his gang days back in the 70s. He served time with slick Rick, used to party with Eric B and Rakim.- and knew Dougie Fresh. Oh and PS… He was a war lord of his own gang
