Marcus Baskerville, the Director of Brewing at Weathered Souls Brewing Co as well as a Founding Board member of the recently launched National Black Brewers Association. This past July marks the second year of the Black is Beautiful Beer campaign, uniting breweries across the US in support of diversity and equality within the brewing industry. Given that less than 1 percent of breweries are Blacked owned in the United States. We talk about the efforts to bring more diversity and equity into the brewing industry, how beer is made, and how he got into brewery.  

Dr. Michelle Udayamurthy, an internal medicine physician with Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, is here to talk about heat island.  According to the Environmental Protection Agency, a heat island is an urban area, where buildings and roads are highly concentrated, and greenery is limited.  They become “islands” of higher temperatures, relative to outlying areas.  Dr. Udayamurthy talks about the various types of heat-related illnesses.

The founders of We Were Once Them, a 501(c)(03) non-profit, is back to talk about their charity golf outing on August 7th, 2023 at Windrose Golf Club, Spring, Texas. We talk to Ciara Mason and 2/3rds of the founders of WWOT, Jean Olivier Mbog (Cameroon) and Anthony McGee (Liberia). WWOT touches the lives of over 4500 young people each year.  They have visited 58 schools and orphanages and have donated many needed supplies.
