This short film was co written and directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green and sees Jon Bernthal return as the titular character and serves as the other co writer on this film. While this film follows the character from the “Daredevil: Born Again” series, it does not follow the events of the Netflix series which serves as its own story. In this film, Frank Castle is plagued by the ghost of his past from family and friends he’s lost along the way but his mental health and combat training are put to the ultimate when the mob puts a bounty on his head. Even though the Netflix series saw success with their own cinematic universe, those series were eventually ended after Disney bought the rights to the characters in 2022 with a majority of the cast remaining intact including Bernthal as “The Punisher”, Charlie Cox as “Daredevil” and Vincent D’Nofrio as “Kingpin”.
