This week in the first Radical Writers' Club Mike talks to D K Renton, socialist, Marxist thinker and activist, co-founder of rs21 about his new books Revolutionary Forgiveness (Haymarket) and The Anti-Fascist Novel (Routledge).
They discuss Dave's path to becoming a radical writer, the origins and context of his books, and what's next on the horizon. Revolutionary Forgiveness is a powerful take on what forgiveness can look like in terms of a revolutionary act, and The Anti-Fascist Novel recovers an important tradition of oft-forgotten literature to explore the imaginative world of British anti-fascism.
Dave also reflects on the contemporary political moment and the importance both of forgiveness and understanding today's politics for what it is - and avoiding defeatism.
