Pastor Jason Mayhall teaches at Redemption Bible Church about the purpose of Jesus’ incarnation in our current Christmas season series “When Love Came Down.” Pastor Jason describes how Jesus’ divinity, resolve, and timing worked in perfect unison to establish Christianity, bringing everyone into the family of God. Using his family’s personal experience with their adoption process, parallels are drawn to God’s adoption of each of us into his family. Through that adoption we are granted God’s love and a permanent home among those who care for us. As the Christmas season rolls forward with parties, family, and distractions, this sermon is a good reminder that at the root of it all there remains a need to be thankful for what God has blessed us with. We receive God’s love even though we are all born broken and unworthy; all we need to do is receive him and believe.
