When God’s law is used to be a good person instead of revealing that it is God who is good and it’s us who are not good, it is the culture and the self, not God, that is the end goal. Being a good person points to how great we are and how great our culture is. Revealing a good God shows how bad we really are and leads us to Jesus Christ who is not only perfectly good, but is our highest good.
