A man that served as president longer than any other, he dealt with crises both at his doorstep and around the globe.  Whether it was checks to fight hunger or tanks to fight Hitler, Franklin Roosevelt worked to provide what was needed to manage and mitigate disasters both natural and man made.  A legacy that still impacts us today, Franklin Roosevelt's impact on the U.S. and the world cannot be understated. 

From Washington to Monroe, from Roosevelt to Trump the President has shaped U.S. foreign policy in many ways.  This week we'll take a look back at the historical cirumstances of U.S. foreign policy from Washington up through Teddy Roosevelt and make some modern connections by checking out President Trumps twitter feed.  #WhatwouldWashingtonTweet?

All the glitters is not gold.  Welcome to the Gilded Age, and era of tremendous wealth, innovation, and giving on the surface and poverty, corruption, and inequality underneath. 

We started the week looking at modern use and misuse of historical symbols of hate and inequality.  We then MOVED onto a mini unit on migrations and understanding the reasons people move.  We finished up by inducing our next unit on the Gilded Age by looking at modern day billionaires.
