Steve shares how his life was radically changed as he sought to walk in the footsteps of Jesus.
Segment 1: A Historic Chance to Strengthen Religious Rights
The Supreme Court will take up a case out of Colorado asking whether a state may exclude a religious school from a universal preschool program because the school declines to abandon its beliefs on human sexuality and identity. The case, known as St. Mary Catholic School v. Roy, could shape the place of religion in American life for years to come. Andrea Picciotti-Bayer unpacks it for us.
Segment 2: “I am the Bread of Life”
In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us that He is the Bread of Life, and whoever believes in Him will never hunger or thirst. How do we respond to this invitation? Marcus has more.
Segment 3: Carrying the Cross of Infertility (2 segments)
In 1989, the National Infertility and Family Building Association launched an initiative with the stated goal to “empower you and change the conversation around infertility. The annual campaign, now known as National Infertility Awareness Week, is aimed at educating the public, reducing the stigma of infertility, and removing barriers those with infertility face in their journey toward parenthood. But the glitch is that “removing barriers” is code for “access to IVF.” This should give Catholics pause, as the Church does not see it as a morally licit means of becoming a parent. We talk more about it with Leigh Snead.
“What is the gift of tongues?” This question opens a discussion on the Catholic understanding of this spiritual phenomenon. Additionally, the conversation touches on why polygamy may not serve as a strong apologetical argument for Mormons, and clarifies the mention of two Zechariahs in the Old Testament during a debate.
