When the goblins steal the nightingale from the fairy queen's court, Pease-Blossom is tasked with retrieving her. His journey is fraught with obstacles: falling into thorns, being carried by a night-hawk, falling into the sea, and finally reaching the Giant's castle. He navigates the treacherous climb down the chimney and evades the sleeping Giant to free the nightingale. They escape, and upon their return, Pease-Blossom is celebrated with a grand ball in fairyland, marking the successful end to his quest.
