This week’s episode is part two of our conversation with Bakker Shields, founder and CEO of Ubora Fitness and the BAMN Coalition! Bakker has been an entrepreneur from the time he was 12 and has started numerous companies along the way! Bakker graduated the University of Oklahoma in 2021 and has since gone full time in his entrepreneurial ventures. We decided there is no better time to talk about gratitude than the week of Thanksgiving! This time of year allows friends and family members to come together, eat loads of foods, and more importantly, truly appreciate the people in our lives. There are countless things in our lives to be grateful for, and it’s far too easy to take what we have for granted. As a result, we tend to neglect the most important aspects of our lives, whether family, friends, events, or any opportunities that come our way. If we can practice and develop the skill of gratitude, not only will it improve the quality of our lives, but it will help us remember how truly blessed we are!

This week’s guest is professional ballet dancer, Annie Medich! Annie is a graduate of the HARID Conservatory and the University of Oklahoma, where she earned a BFA in Ballet Performance and a minor in Mathematics. Not to mention, she did all of that while dancing with Oklahoma City Ballet II for two seasons while attending OU! Annie has spent summers training at Canada’s National Ballet School, Ballet West, Houston Ballet, Texas Ballet Theater, Kansas City Ballet, Chautauqua Institute, Atlanta Ballet, and now dances professionally with Ballet Arizona!

Throughout this episode we explore why you can’t let others take away your dreams, how to handle situations where people’s egos are involved, and how to overcome rejection and use it to fuel your growth.
