The Ramble with Jeff Donaldson Part I

I left the rat race while at the top. I was making the most I had ever made, and I was offered a promotion. But I was tired of the travel. The work no longer inspired me. I was sick of answering emails all night and while on vacation. It was what I chased, but I felt trapped - like it was impossible to leave - because I was the provider. I went to bed most nights with a pit in my gut, hoping that one day I would wake up and take back my life - before my kids had grown and moved out. So, I resigned. No plans. No resume. No guarantees.
