An in depth review of Jhene Aiko’s deluxe version of her most recent album “Chilombo.” Ms. Aiko continues to stay consistent and provide us with three types of music: Relaxing Music, Party Music and Stroke Songs. The deluxe songs were quality and provided some bangers that I was very pleased to receive. The initial album was already strong but sometimes you don’t want to hold songs until your next album you just want to get those shots off. To accompany her smooth vocals and surprising bars were artists like H.E.R., Big Sean (of course), John Legend, Kehlani, Ty Dollar Sign and more. I hope you haven’t been sleeping on Jhene because if you were, wake up. Her talent isn’t going to blow your doors off but those windows will break LOL. An in depth review of Avant’s new album “Can We Fall In Love.” 20 years in the game and nine albums in, Avant is still as consistent as he ever was. An artist whose music sounds good on any day and sounds current in any year over the past 20, he hasn’t lost a step. He took this album into his own hands only having features from Robert Glasper to provide a quality instrumental for my favorite song on the album. Take your time with this one because you will realize that Avant is one of the best to do it!! An in depth review of Teyana Taylor’s new album “The Album.” Two years since her last release, KTSE, Teyana Taylor is back and better than ever with a 23 song effort that shows that she was really putting in work during her hiatus. Since arriving on the R&B scene in the early 2000s Mr. Stephens has blessed us with hit album after hit album and there are no signs that he will be slowing down. This album continues to solidify him as what his name says a LEGEND. No longer tied to his piano, as he was earlier in his career, John is a real deal superstar whose vocal talents are unmatched. Well I’ll be gotdamned it’s the podcast’s 2-year anniversary so I decided to review an album that helped spark my love of R&B so here is an in depth review of Usher’s third album and classic before a classic “8701.” Usher was already 2 albums into his career when this album was released. “8701” solidified his star and put him at the top of the R&B game allowed his star to continue to rise on the pop charts. With limited features, a powerful voice, quality production and strategic releases this album was on heavy rotation for over a year for me. An in depth review of Deante’ Hitchcock’s new album “BETTER.” Sure this is an R&B podcast, but Deante Hitchcock is the official rapper of the pod so as soon as I saw that he was releasing an new album and I knew I had reviewed him before I know I had to see what his new album was hitting for. The easy way to say this is BARS, my guy was spitting from the moment the beat dropped and never disappointed when it came to punch lines.
