Matt McKeown grew up in eastern Tennessee in a rural farming community. He enlisted in the US Navy directly out of high school where he became a Navy SWCC. Following his Naval service he graduated from Covenant College before attending the US Coast Guard’s Officer Candidate school. His duties included Command Officer of a cutter and shore duty as an intelligence officer. After retirement, he commercial fished and now has a passion for thoroughbred racehorses. He is in the process of opening a racehorse themed cigar lounge in Cleveland Tennessee.
