How can Cities do a better job of providing safe, intuitive infrastructure to encourage more cycling, walking, safety for mobility scooters and all forms of Active Transportation? If we build it, will they ride?

Is public transit an essential service or a business that's supposed to just generate a certain amount of revenue or not run at all? Greta Thunberg shamed world leaders and still we resist change to the extent that we need it now. What will it take to get all levels of government to sit up, pay attention and devote the energy and support to fix our broken system and crumbling planet?

I'm going to evaluate how a water bottling facility does not fit with the City's Strategic Priorities, Values & Mission Statement and Ec Dev Strategy. Also how does the creation of more single-use disposable waste factor into the Region's Solid Waste Management Planning?

Swimming back into the topic of Water Part 2 and diving into Governance.

Water is a human right. We should not be allowing corporations to privatize it, bottle it and sell if for enormous profits and then ship it around the world increasing the carbon emissions of the planet. The City of Powell River should prohibit the bottling of all groundwater and surface water in our bylaws. We should not allow a water bottling operation to come to the town to bottle water and sell it. And we should lobby the Provincial Government to revoke all water licenses. Bottling and selling surface water and groundwater is unsustainable and criminal. Instead let's help communities and countries that don't have access to clean drinking water, get their own clean publicly funded water so they don't have to buy it. Let the ranting begin. PS sometimes I swear. Sorry.
