Over the last couple of episodes, we have explored the different aspects in the life of a real estate agent including how to become a realtor as well as what your trusted real estate advisor REALLY makes in terms of a commission. As we continue to take a look into those different facets of a realtor’s life, today, we talk about an especially hot topic in the real estate community. In this episode, we explore the debate of full-time realtors vs. part-time realtors and the pros and cons of hiring one over the other.

Realtors often get asked what does it take to become a realtor? Today, we talk about the steps a person should take if they are thinking of wanting to get their salesperson’s license in real estate.

• STEP 1: Complete your required education and exam prep.
o 18 years old
o High school diploma or equivalent
o 75 hours of approved real estate education

o Cannot be more than 90 days old from the date your application was submitted.
• STEP 3: Take the real estate licensing exams.

o Regulations approved by the Pennsylvania Real Estate Commission

As independent contractors, realtors face a different type of pay structure than that of a traditional employee of a company or business. Today, we pull back the curtain and discuss what a realtor truly makes on the sale of a home. You might be surprised to discover that it’s not as much as you think!
