The church is called to be the expression of God’s wisdom but has yet to fully manifest it, leaving a vacuum the world has filled with imperfect, even perverted, wisdom.
This lack of true, perfect love, which is the standard of perfection, has caused society to fail. 1 Corinthians 13:10 speaks of a time when “that which is perfect” will come, and this refers to the full revelation of God’s love.
Six Strong Points from this teaching:
➡️ The church’s purpose is to display God’s manifold wisdom to the world and heavenly places (Ephesians 3:10). The church hasn’t fully manifested this wisdom, creating space for the world to offer its own, often flawed, version.
➡️The world’s wisdom lacks the purity and other qualities of true wisdom, as described in James 3:17.
➡️Biblical perfection, especially in 1 Corinthians 13, is often tied to love, not just holiness. It’s God’s love that needs to be revealed.
➡️ The world suffers because believers haven’t demonstrated true love effectively.
➡️The world, through media and society, has presented a distorted view of love, “inoculating” people against receiving or recognizing true love. This has hardened hearts and created immunity to God’s love.
➡️ God’s ambition is for His perfect love to be fully revealed to the world.
