This morning we continue our study verse by verse through the gospel of Matthew. Jesus begins a series of seven parables which he uses to teach the crowds. Not only does he use the parables to teach, he explains to his disciples the reason why he uses these parables to teach the people. The first parable Jesus teaches deals with four responses to the message of the kingdom, represented by four different types of soil. Scripture text is Matthew 13:1-23.
