Jesus encountered Simon after a fruitless night of fishing and encouraged him to ‘Put out into the deep’ (Luke 5v1-11).  He would never be the same again!

Today we explore how we can draw near to Him, to be still and know that He is indeed an all powerful, yet deeply caring God.

Bartimaeus was blind, probably from birth.  As Jesus passed through Jericho he cried out to our Lord – “Jesus Son of David have mercy on me.”  Jesus asked him what he wanted and Bartimaeus did not beat about the bush.  “Rabbi I want to see.”  His directness was rewarded and not only did he receive instant sight but also he became an instant follower of Jesus.  Are we always as direct in our approach to Jesus?
