Stefan G. Bucher of 344 stopped by the day after a fantastic presentation to AIGA Nebraska in support of his new book, Letterheads : An Eccentric Alphabet.

A lot has happened since we last had Stefan on the show. Well, I would hope so, it’s been a full decade – I’m not even sure how that’s possible – but Stefan was actually on episode 2 talking about his just released Daily Monsters book, and a monster mural he was working on.

This time we talk about 3rd-hand information I am trying to recall about the mural, his Letterheads book, rotoscoping a video, time travel, a yeti, a Jupiter poster, non-disclosures, non-competes, and more.

Robin Fitzgerald, CCO at BBDO Atlanta, was back in Nebraska to speak at AAF Omaha’s Meet the Pros. I stopped by a couple hours before her presentation, and we discussed both of us actually attending Meet the Pros while in school, her career path to date (starting out in Omaha as a copywriter at Bozell), and her path to Atlanta.

We then talk about BBDO’s recent work for Toys”R”Us (including a giant Etch a Sketch installation), and their Suburban Horror Story work for Street Grace.

Big thanks to AAF Omaha for lining this up, and congrats to them for another amazing event (and something like the 57th year of Meet the Pros).

Ben Lueders and Erin Pille of Fruitful Design stopped by to discuss something or another about design – but my attendance at an SEGD Omaha event ended with a free MTN Dew ICE – and thus plans had to change. We taste test the ICE; original DEW; as well as the white, green and black label varieties.

I have no idea why it took this many years since our last true taste testing, but it was a fun show.
