In this episode we explore Earth, our home. This area delves into our upstream and downstream impacts, resource utilization and stewardship and the systemic benefits of being more regenerative caretakers. We’ll share some examples and the value of digging into this area of the framework.

This week we are diving into the Paradoxum Approach model. Join us as we discuss and provide tangible examples and insight for each of the 6 key principles:
1) In-Depth Discovery allows us to obtain a deep understanding of your business, culture, goals, objectives, issues, problems and economic opportunities.
2) Advantageous Perspective identifies and maximizes leverage. We view information through multiple lenses, engaging whole systems thinking, identifying cultural trends, and analyzing consumer behaviors.
3) Holistically Designed Strategies that are guided by regenerative principles, including prosperity and actionable equity. We determine cost, ROI, technical requirements and helpful tools to create scalable models and designs to enhance existing strategies, not impede them.
4) Creation of Collectives that catalyze action. We identify key agents, stakeholders and potential partners. We build strong, mutually beneficial and productive alliances.
5) Implementation + Integration from policy to action plans and procedures. We support policy management, training and coaching. Strategy integration is engaged through branding, stories and marketing.
6) Refinery perfects and improves outcomes through ongoing support, assessments, feedback, reviews and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

This week we discuss a key regenerative principle - death is a building block of life. Together we chat about how to say goodbye to dysfunctional, harmful or outdated business practices in order to make way for more regenerative principles. This process includes analyzing current practices through questioning, identifying systems and measuring impacts. We also look to biomimicry and nature to see how ecosystems evolve and receive nourishment from dying organisms in order to bring about new life.
In this episode we reference:
Regenerative Leadership by Giles Hutchins and Laura Storm
Designing Regenerative Cultures by Daniel Christian Wahl
This week we’re talking with Krystina Jarvis, owner of A Drop in the Ocean Shop, about greenwashing. Krystina founded the first zero waste pop up store in Tacoma, WA. In this episode we talk about what greenwashing is, what to look out for and how to make eco-better choices in the midst of a pandemic and manipulative marketing from companies who spend more money to make themselves look green than actually investing in being green. We also touch on proper disposal for compostable items and bioplastics, and how businesses can avoid contributing to greenwashing.
Our favorite take away from our conversation with Krystina: “Make changes when you can, where you can, and how you can.”
