Over the years of Joel and Stanislav's friendship, The Sopranos has remained a constant talking point. A show that Stan had already seen multiple times that he graciously shared with Joel to both of their delights. Today, they talk about Joel finishing it for the first time in 2026 and how it holds up so incredibly well today.

The Sopranos is an American psychological crime drama television series created by David Chase for HBO. The series follows Tony Soprano, a New Jersey Mafia boss who has panic attacks. He reluctantly begins seeing psychiatrist Dr. Jennifer Melfi who encourages him to open up about his difficulties balancing his family life with his criminal life.

Following on from Joel's recommendation last week, Stan's recommendation to Joel was Dog Day Afternoon, an absolutely incredible film that was way ahead of its time. In this episode the boys glaze it right up and revel in the accidental pro-trans double feature they created. Al Pacino's best performance?

Direct to you from Joel's master bedroom, him and Stanislav discuss the existential dread that was thrust upon them after watching Jane Schoenbrun's I Saw the TV Glow. We love this movie and think that you should give it a fair go. With killer vibes, a magnificent soundtrack and tremendously unique story, this film is worth celebrating for life.

The obligatory Obsession & Backrooms podcast episode of which we talk about the two films that are taking the film world by storm right now, so much so that we went to a Blu-Ray store yesterday and it was all the nerds were talking about!! Every eavesdrop we did were people yapping about Obsession!

We also briefly chat The Apprentice but mostly stay on the two younger filmmakers who are slaying hard right now: Curry Barker and Kane Parsons. Without forgetting to mention that we both saw Obsession before it was cool.

Fresh off of a family movie night crash out, Joel glazes up Punch-Drunk Love after Stan watches it for the first time, and is unsure of where he stands. Just recently too, the boys saw The President's Cake, back to back with The Drama at their local cinema, the Brunswick Picture House.
