You Must Be Born Again | The Life of Christ

Nicodemus had everything religion could offer: knowledge of the Scriptures, reputation among the people, and a lifetime of doing what he believed God required. Yet Jesus confronts him with a truth that still confronts us today: religion can reform behavior, but only Christ can transform nature.

Jesus makes it clear that entrance into the Kingdom of God is not based on heritage, good works, church attendance, or religious activity. The Kingdom is entered only one way — through the new birth.

Episode Summary

Before Israel stepped into the Promised Land, Moses told them to remember. Why? Because blessing can breed forgetfulness. Prosperity can produce pride. And spiritual amnesia will make you panic in places where you should have peace.

The wilderness was not punishment — it was preparation. God used it to humble them, test their hearts, and teach them dependence. How you walk through the wilderness determines what you carry into the promise.

1. The wilderness is necessary. God led them the entire way. The testing exposed what was in their hearts. You don’t live by bread alone, but by every word from the Lord.

2. Remembering fuels obedience. When we forget what God has done, obedience weakens. Prosperity can make us think we did it ourselves.

3. Complaining is the language of unbelief. Israel’s pattern in the wilderness showed that complaining flows from doubt. The wilderness didn’t create their unbelief — it exposed it.

Every battle you face has already been won at the cross.
