Stacey Hunt, the ex-wife of defendant Joshua Hunt, talks about the moment she and her family learned of the mistrial.
Brittany Corvello talks about her stepmother, Lisa Cano, and the defense mounted by her stepbrother, Joshua Hunt, who allegedly admitted to killing Cano with a sword.
Stacey said her family had lived in the house with her mother-in-law rent-free because Joshua didn't have a job and shirked all of his responsibilities— as an adult.
"We were very confused, and shocked," said Brittany Corvello, Lisa Cano's stepdaughter.
Stacey Hunt was awakened from a deep sleep by her husband, Joshua Hunt, on July 18, 2014. Her former husband told her that he had just killed his mother, Lisa Cano, 56, who had been sleeping in another room of the house they were living in on the 5800 block of Organ Peak Drive, with a sword. After a recent mistrial, the case is still making its way through New Mexico's court system.
