(College 101 Series: Chapter 10) We had an amazing time talking to our good friend and special guest of the show, Jaclyn Donovan, about her experience as a former student-athlete and also former college athletics administrator. She gave some great advice for those listeners that are playing sports in college that you may not have thought about. And, as it seems to be a growing tradition on the show, she couldn't pass up the opportunity to joke on AJ.
(College 101 Series: Chapter 9) Whether it's your jam or not, alcohol and drugs will be present on college campuses. It's important for you to understand that, so you can move forward and have plan for what you'll do if and when you come across them. This episode is not about telling you what you should or should not be doing in college, but simply giving you information, and our experiences, so that you can make your own educated decision for your life. It's a judgement-free zone here.
(College 101 Series: Chapter 8) Part of going to college is choosing where you're going to live, and that choice can have an effect your college experience. It's certainly a decision that shouldn't be taken lightly ... and one that you should have as much information as possible before making. That's where we come in. We discuss the important factors you should consider when deciding whether you should live that dorm-life or live off campus.
(College 101 Series: Chapter 7) Spring Break is a week many students look forward to. (Tips and Tricks Series: Chapter 6) Some of us love it, and some of us hate it ... but no matter which side you're on, you're going to have to deal with it in college, and with good reason. Group work gives you exposure to what many of us will experience in the work force, so it is important. Join us as we discuss some tips and tricks that will help you get then most out of your group work for yourself and your group mates.
(Tips and Tricks Series: Chapter 5) Classroom etiquette is an area that will change from classroom to classroom. It's a "read the room", if you will, kind of expectation. Join us as we discuss these tips in hopes of helping you be perceived as a good student.
(Advanced College Series: Chapter 6) As with many topics we discuss on the show, sometimes the choices are made for us. Whether you have to, to be able to provide for yourself and others, or you want to, because you want to resources to be able to do or have different things, or you don't want or have to at all, working while you're in college is a topic that will come up. Join us as we discuss things to consider from both the work side and the academic side when deciding on whether you need to work while in school.
(Advanced College Series: Chapter 5) As college educators, graduate school is a topic that both Jason and AJ know well. Graduate school for some students is already decided upon. But, for others, the decision on whether to apply to grad school is still up in the air. Join the hosts as they talk about things to consider when trying to decide if you should apply, the application process, advice to help you make that decision, and finally, how to deal with burnout ... cause more years of college can be a frightening thing.
(Advanced College Series: Chapter 4) What an episode this was!! Since Jason and AJ don't have much experience in Greek Life, we felt the need to bring in a true expert to help the listeners with this topic ... and, man did we get the right person. Our good friend, Emily Ward, joined us to talk about her experience in a sorority while in college. She discussed the pros and cons of joining Greek Life, the process of joining, what to expect, and she ended the episode by offering some advice for those thinking about joining. We really appreciate her joining us!!
(Advanced College Series: Chapter 3) This may be one of the topics that Jason is MOST passionate about. After listening to him talk about his study abroad experiences and how it shaped his life, it's easy to understand how they have be so important ... AJ study abroad too, but he's not that important right now. The opportunity to study abroad in another country can benefit your life and career in so many ways. Join us as we discuss the different types of study abroad programs out there, how to get the most out of them, and how to identify obstacles when applying for them ... and yes, we talk about the finance side of them, too.
